As India sees a spike in its cases again, MediBuddy witnesses an increase in covid consultations

MediBuddy notices a 67% upsurge in Covid-19 consultations

National, 13th June 2022: With over 1 billion vaccinated across the country, the covid-19 pandemic still threatens our society. Witnessing a great rise in covid cases, individuals are compelled to mask up, maintain social distance and observe covid appropriate protocol to curb the spread of this noxious virus. 

MediBuddy, India’s largest digital healthcare platform, noticed an increase of 67% in its online Covid-related expert online doctor consultation. Mumbai, Kochi, NCR, Bengaluru followed by Chennai, Hyderabad and Dehradun are among the top cities to approach MediBuddy for their covid-related queries. Their RTPCR testing rates also shot up to 84%. Similarly, ‘At home covid-care’ including delivery of medicines to one’s doorstep and other such services, increased by 41%. 

Although the figure of those infected with the virus is on the rise, it is safe to say that due to the effective vaccines majority of Indians are either asymptomatic or facing milder symptoms. Moreover, the hospitalization and death rates are relatively low as compared to the pre-vaccine times. It is recommended that individuals above 18 and those eligible should receive the precautionary booster dose at the earliest.
