The Quality Council of India and the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare have forged a partnership aimed at revolutionizing the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) landscape to enhance the healthcare experience for beneficiaries. Through systematic interventions, the collaboration seeks to bolster the quality of services offered, with a keen focus on accreditation by NABH/NABL and capacity building for healthcare providers.
Emphasizing the role of technology, the agreement lays the foundation for various initiatives to modernize the CGHS ecosystem. It also encompasses measures to ensure the quality of drugs and storage facilities, streamline procurement and inventory management systems, and modernize infrastructure, products, and processes.
Regular review mechanisms will be instituted to monitor quality, while efforts to expand the network of qualified healthcare providers and laboratories under CGHS will be prioritized for a comprehensive overhaul of the system.
